Rainbow: Detroit ’75. Ford Auditorium, Detroit, USA. 18.11.75
Description

NOTES:
“1st
gen cassette from the JEMS archives. This one captures the original 1st lineup of
Rainbow touring in support of their debut album. This particular friend of JEMS made this
recording using "J"s Sony TC-153SD deck and is also indirectly
responsible for a good portion of the JEMS master recordings made in and around
the Detroit area from 75-77 since it was their advent mic
used here that 'J' would borrow to record with during this time period. There
has also been a lot of misinformation floating around concerning the date of
this show. It happened on the 18th not the 20th or 21st as has been perpetuated
throughout the years. This copy comes directly from the taper almost right
after the show happened with this date written on the tapes/j-cards. We have no
reason to doubt the authenticity of this date so unless a definative
piece of proof like a newspaper ad/review or ticket stub refuting this date can
be brought forth, this is the date the show took
place. We also assume this is the same source recording as has been circulated
through the years and not some new source but the hardcore fans can sort that
out afterwards.”
You can check the poster from the tour HERE to double check real date.
This show happened very early on
Rainbow’s life, the sound quality is average with slight cut towards end due to
tape flip on Catch the Rainbow, also cut in middle due to tape
change over A
