Rainbow: Live at Springfield, The Jaxx. The Jaxx,
Springfield, USA. 22.02.97
It’s not that Doggie is a bad singer he is perfect for this kind of music, but this is a new
era, this concert is from the 90’s and the band sounded a like a mixture of all
the previous eras of Rainbow, for the first time, Ritchie decided not to change the style of the band and even
when the line up was perfectly competent, the new metal fans are not in this
style of music there is something called evolution, even if you are a living
legend like Ritchie you need to change all the time, maybe
not following the new waves but showing you have new ideas, maybe if Joe Lynn has sung in this era the commercial success could had
been bigger but that was not the case.
The recording is a nice audience recording with
nothing else to be remember there are better concerts from this era is just a
nice addition to be heard like 3 or 4 times but no more.
