Description
Nocturnus was a band formed by Mike Browning, who was the original drummer and singer of Morbid Angel, yes Altars
of Madness wasn’t the first album, and when he was fired from Morbid Angel and his other band Incubus disbanded, he created this technical death metal band
with keyboards, yes keyboards and they sound brutal not melodic death from nowadays,
just brutal and sick-fi death metal.
I have known of
the existence of 3 SBD recordings from this band for years but is until now
2011, that I could put my hands on the, this one the first of the 3 has been a
nice addition to my collection, but it have some mistakes here and there, over
the next songs there are audio problems: Lake of fire,
Andromeda strain and Droid sector, the sound
goes at least once at each song and in the case of the first return with lower
volume.
One thing you
need to know also is the fact that it is pre-first album recording so even when
they sound brutal and great; the performance is not what you could expect from
a signed band. Anyway many bands would die for sound like they did in this
show.
If you have
information about the venue I would appreciate it a lot.
