Flotsam & Jetsam: Hammersmith Odeon ’87. Hammersmith
Odeon, London, UK. 06.03.87
Description
NOTE FROM
TAPER: This was broadcast
on rock broadcasting legend Tommy Vance's BBC Radio programme
The Friday Rock Show. They opened for Megadeth, who
were also broadcast, (and recently uploaded here, and after some checking, the
offending tracks that were taken from the original post really WERE offending
tracks, there had been a little confusion regarding dates and the like, but
that came down to bad info on a wiki. Remember kids, not everything you read on
the internet is factually correct, lol!).
Taped live from the radio by myself. I used to run the
tuner on my Akai boombox through my Sony amp and
record on a Marantz tapedeck,
(I forget the models, although I still have and use my old Marantz
turntable! They don't make 'em like that anymore...).
Only a normal bias tape, as I was always pushed for cash....
The sound is pretty darn good! There's a little FM
noise here and there, but nothing major. Newstead had
of course left the band by this point, so you get interim bassist Michael
Spencer instead, (Troy Gregory hadn't yet joined, and didn't stay too long. We
talked to him before Prong played a few years ago in Newcastle, and he told us F'n'J were the biggest joke he'd ever played with,
basically he called them all idiots! Either way, those 1st two LP's have a
place in my heart...).
